We spent 5 weeks up there in 1997 going from campground to campground. Some days we only drove 20 to 30 miles to the next CG. We have returned there a few times since then.

I, too, have begun spending soooooo much time reading blogs and posting comments. It is fun but time consuming. It makes me "just do it"!

I love seeing your Smokey Mountain pictures! My husband and I rode the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway a few years ago on our motorcycle. I have really struggled to make friends where I live now, but I am grateful to read that I am not alone in these struggles against (and victory over!) unhealthy eating habits and attitudes. Good luck on the walking. I know you can do it. We have spent 2 or 3 weeks away in cooler climes this summer which was wonderful, but we're back in hot, humid Virginia now and tomorrow's alarm will go off uber-early. I go to the gym to lift and, in a pinch, I will exercise with my Wii in the air-conditioned splendor of our spare bedroom. I much prefer outdoor exercise, though--running, hiking, or bicycling. It's not too bad bicycling after dinner, even on a very hot day, but we so often have thunder storms in the summer evenings. The only good thing about the heat & humidity--well, two good things are 1) I'm way more inclined to drink 8+ cups of water daily, and 2) I'm not as hungry as when I'm cold.
Good luck!Tishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01039903741028922963noreply@blogger.com
