My Back Deck - Flagler Beach, FL
January 27, 2013
Where in the world have I been for the last week? I've been right here, but my days have been so filled with the same daily routine, I haven't been able to summons up the motivation to write about it. My last post, A Day In The Life, told the story and nothing has changed.
Bill flew in for the MLK long weekend. We discussed all sorts of fun things we COULD do, but in the end, did very little more than eat, sleep, walk, talk and gaze at the ocean. He flew back out Monday afternoon dreading the quick transition from warm balmy weather to freezing cold temps, but at soon as he was back at school the next day, forgot all about being down here. And this is a good thing!
This year has been all about the amazing weather. It is my fifth time spending the entire month of January and it's the first time there hasn't been even one brief cold snap. Most days are a mixture of sun and passing clouds with temps somewhere in the 70's. Although it is badly needed, there has been zero rain since I arrived and none is predicted before I leave.
Speaking of leaving, my time is up on Friday morning. Exactly when I will get home to Tennessee is still a bit up in the air as Bill has come up with a plan for us to spend a few more days in Florida. We'll see how that pans out and if it does, you'll be the first to know. I'm all for stretching out the 70 degree days a bit longer, but only if Bill is here too.
There was just one thing missing in today's picture, so I'll leave you with that. I'm trying my best to stay healthy while here and that includes making certain I get my daily recommended dose of Vitamin D..................
I think I'm making quite a fashion statement right down to the pink fuzzy socks!
Thankfully, my deck is completely private.
Thanks for Reading!
Living in Tennessee too, I can say that your choice of staying put in Fla. is a wise one! The weather has been crazy here. Enjoy your time.
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon, I found your lovely blog through Betsy's Blog. I live in Michigan but love the south. I love the south and wish I was there right now because we've had freezing rain last night and we have about 10 inches of snow in our front yard. I am also trying to lose weight. How did you lose your weight??? We are heading to Kentucky, Tenn. and North Carolina in the Spring and I am so looking forward to it. Have a lovely week. Hugs Judy
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon, Me again. I have become a follower so I will be back to enjoy your blog. Hugs Judy
ReplyDeleteI love that last picture of you, especially as I sit here looking out at snow!! :D
ReplyDeleteWow, the temperature ranges around the US are amazing. From frozen falls to sunny beaches. Glad to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteI have some pink fuzzy socks too. You reminded me to go and put them on!
I am really needing some Vit. D right now. I also need to hear the waves crashing and smell the salt air. Maybe fall break will hold a trip for us.
ReplyDeleteLooks good, Sharon, no Vitamin D around here these days, even when it's warm the sun doesn't come out. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh, I want a nice spot like that! It looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWe are leaving here early Wednesday morning. We expect to be in Florida by Thursday. I hope there will still be some vitamin D when we get there.
ReplyDeleteI admit it...I'm down right jealous of that last picture. Ha! The winter blues are slowly creeping in to my psyche, and I'm so ready for spring! I think it's suppose to get near 70 here on Wednesday before turning cold again, so I'll be sure to enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and Bill do get to enjoy some extended time in Florida...but I look forward to catching up, and hitting the mountains with you when you return.
Fingers crossed you get to extend your stay! I'm taking advantage of *every* sunny day to get out and get some Vitamin D. It's definitely helping with the mood. :)
ReplyDeleteJealous!!
ReplyDeleteYou look very happy and relaxed. Enjoy the rest of your vacation, however much longer it lasts.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you get to stay longer! It looks so peaceful and beautiful, fuzzy pink socks and all!
ReplyDeleteHI Sharon, You obviously had a wonderful vacation... That's my type of vacation.. I'd love being there --and I'd probably do very little also while there. That's what a real vacation is all about.
ReplyDeleteAnxious to hear whether you come home ---or spend a few more days in FL...
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh, that deck looks like heaven to me right now! It has been rainy and icy and the wind is blowing fiercely here at the moment, so I would settle for even a little bit of sun. :-) I love that last picture of you, Sharon---yay for pink fuzzy socks! Hope you get a stay a bit longer...
ReplyDeleteOh lucky you! I loved living in Florida and do miss it!
ReplyDeleteOh, do those photos ever look heavenly. It was one degree when I woke up this morning. Yuk! You look WAY happier than I do right now! lol
